HCCA Webinar | The OIG's Latest General Compliance Program Guidance: What to Focus On

Last November, the OIG issued a long-awaited revision to its General Compliance Program Guidance (GCPG) - the most-used guide for building and maintaining a compliance program in the healthcare industry. Several important updates and changes to recommended best practices are sprinkled throughout the 91-page document.

What are the biggest takeaways in the guidance for the industry’s leaders – and the most essential elements in the GCPG for compliance professionals to focus on? What benefits can pros expect these changes to generate for themselves and their organizations?

Among other areas, we’ll focus on the following:

  • Added responsibilities the GCPG places on compliance departments – including the establishment and successful operation of an organizational compliance committee
  • What every Board member needs to know about the GCPG and their compliance-related responsibilities to their organizations
  • Summarizing common risk areas (federal anti-kickback statutes, the False Claims Act and many more)
  • Quality and patient safety
    • Learn what key changes and updates the OIG made to its GCPG in November
    • Identify and quantify the benefits these updates can generate for healthcare organizations
